Choose the right make-up for summer temperatures, and select shades that will flatter your newly bronzed complexion!
Less is more in hot climates. Aim for a natural-looking tanned complexion with an even sheen. Forget heavy make-up, as it will melt off your face.
The best shades to set off your tan are shimmering browns and sheer golds. For your lips choose sun-kissed shades with a high-gloss sheen.
If you’re going for the natural look, you will need to feel confident about your complexion. You need to protect your face from harmful UV rays with a high SPF30 face cream – anything less is not enough (and foundation with SPF is not sufficient). Free radicals in smoke and pollution strip the skin of vitality so it’s worth investing in a good antioxidant cream with vitamins A, C and E and a gentle exfoliant to help keep the skin fresh. For an added boost, an energy lift mask will instantly lift, smooth and brighten and give spectacular results. Also, don’t just hydrate your body on the outside - drink plenty of water too!

How to get the look…
You can create smooth, even skin by using a tinted moisturiser which will give an instant, natural-looking tan while protecting you from harmful rays. Pick one that is as close to your natural skin tone as possible.
Give cheeks an instant glow with a sheer glossy blush – stick to a cream blusher, sheer lipstick or lip gloss (yes, on the cheeks!) – The texture is similar to tinted moisturisers so they will blend well and look natural on the skin. Apply with a foundation brush or blend with your ring finger for a smooth finish. To find the right shade first look at your skin tone. Opt for blush colours in peach tones if your skin tone is fair, pink tones for pale rosy complexions or orange shades really suit tanned complexions.
To set off your eyes opt for shimmering shades. Yellow-toned skin looks great in brown, bronze and gold hues; pale or pinkish skin suits silvery beige shades.
And for a luscious pout use a sheer lipstick that also offers protection.
For a quick evening look, line the lashes with marine or black soft pencil liner, add a touch of shimmer lipstick over nude lipstick and smudge a little at the inner rim of the eye and over the lid too for a sexy glamorous look.
