While it is likely that each of these prod- ucts has been tested, experts advise that some of these chemicals can be po- tentially irritating and could even induce allergies. CSS singled out common in- gredients which it says have been linked to cancers, hormone problems, and skin irritations. These include foaming agents such as sodium lauryl sulphate (in shampoos) and disinfectant formalde- hyde (in shampoos and handwash) and preserving agents like parabens (found in moisturisers and mascaras).
